Berzocana is a small mountain village of just 500 habitants whose economy is based on agricultural and livestock activities. The most striking thing about the town's inhabitants is their inherent hospitality. Main crops are cherries, chestnuts, wine, olives as well as horticulture. The latter enables us to enjoy quality produce from the local gardens during the summer. Livestock is principally sheep and goats mainly bred for the production of milk from which the local artisan cheeses are made. These cheeses bear the denomination of origin of Villuercas-Ibores.
On the cultural side it is interesting to follow the local history through the cave paintings, fortresses from the iron-age, Roman and Visigoth remains on the mountain slopes or to see the church of Berzocana, a small cathedral which is a true architectural jewel of the XVI century built in honor of the two local saints Fulgencio and Florentina.
